Purpose and Aim:

To enable the learner to develop creative writing skills using imagery; and to write in an autobiographical manner. The correct use of tense and punctuation conventions are required throughout.


The learner will: The learner can:
1.  Be able to convey his/her own feelings and moods through writing.
1.1 Describe feelings involved in an event or situation: incorporating these feelings into the narrative.
1.2 Use similes and metaphors to illustrate feelings and moods.
2.  Understand the use of imagery when writing creatively.
2.1 Select examples of imagery in published work.
3.  Be able to write an autobiographical episode.
3.1 Write a piece, which describes a series of events or a specific episode, within the learner’s experience.
4.  Be able to use correct conventions of punctuation, spelling and grammar.
4.1 Apply appropriate punctuation conventions to text.
4.2 Check spelling.
4.3 Ensure grammar is appropriate.
