Purpose and Aim:


The learner will: The learner can:
1.  Use polite social conventions and simple structures appropriate to the context. (S1.1, S1.2)
1.1 Combine and use simple structures and commonly used expressions.
1.2 Demonstrate a range of appropriate courtesies using formal and informal language, for example, address, greet and take leave, give compliments, apologise.
1.3 Express difficulty and request appropriate action, for example, repeating or slowing down.
1.4 Use appropriate pronunciation.
2.  Understand and give simple personal information. (S1.2, L1.1, L1.2)
2.1 Introduce self to another person.
2.2 Outline details of home, work, family or friends in three to four simple sentences.
2.3 Ask for information from others, related to at least three aspects of personal or professional life.
2.4 Identify at least three pieces of personal or professional information about others.
3.  Give simple information related to food and drink. (S1.2)
3.1 Request a table for a given number.
3.2 Ask a simple question related to a menu.
3.3 Express basic likes and dislikes related to food/drink.
3.4 Ask for at least three simple items of food / drink from a menu.
3.5 Finalise payment.
4.  Understand and give simple information related to shopping. (S1.2, L1.2)
4.1 Ask a general question.
4.2 Ask for at least two specific items, giving at least one detail, e.g., colour, size, quantity.
4.3 Ask at least one question about an item.
4.4 Identify at least two details describing basic items.
4.5 Give at least one opinion about an item.
4.6 Conclude a transaction.
